On behalf of The City Market of Los Angeles, Urban One studied the feasibility for an additional streetcar alignment that would tie into the Fashion District and be anchored by the City Market development, connecting to the proposed Downtown Los Angeles Streetcar alignment and potentially to other Downtown points of interest. Our final deliverable to the City Market team was a written report containing an analysis of (a) the projected costs to build the streetcar extension, (b) sources of potential private capital funds that can be raised to fund the Project (through the formation of a Community Facilities District (CFD)), (c) opportunities for matching public funds that may be pursued in order make the project a reality, and (d) the feasibility of utilizing the City Market site as a staging area for the construction of the Downtown Los Angeles Streetcar.
